MacNN had a news item mentioning a sale on iBooks with a starting price of $950. (link below) However, I haven't seen evidence of this on the Apple Store online, with the entry level 12" iBook still at list price $999. Anybody know if this was incorrect info, or is there another place to look, coupons, or what?
thanks,
Collin

That's not a sale, that's the Apple Refurb Store. Just click the link in the mail and you'll see what's for sale right now and what isn't

i'm familiar with the refurb section. the part of the news article I'm asking about is not about refurbs:
"The store is also offering a sale on new 12-inch and 14-inch iBook G4s starting at $950."
anybody know whether this sale is for real or not?
thanks.

This sale just means that there's at least one iBook for at least US $950 in the refurb store. Doesn't mean you'll get a brand-new one

well, i guess my interpretation of the word "new" meant *new*.
also, the sentence doesn't make sense since refurb iBooks in the refurb section start around $799. $950 wouldn't be any kind of breakthrough for refurb iBooks.
ok, so i guess we just chalk this one up to poor editing then, huh?

Go into the Special Deals section and click on the second tab which is Sale. The iBooks that are on sale are the last generation models that where discontinued in Oct. You can get a 12" 1GHz for $949 or a 14" 1GHz for $1099. They are new non-refurbished units.

But remember, that the last generation came Airport Express ready whereas the new ones already have an Airport Express WLAN card installed.
