I signed up with them a few weeks ago, and got the paperwork in the mail a day or two ago... I was just reading over it and trying to decipher all the legalise about how/when you can make a claim and how they'll pay it, etc.

Anybody ever had to make a claim? How was the whole process?

Obviously I've already paid up for the next 12 months so if the service was crap I'm out $200, but I just wondered if anyone could speak about them from firsthand experience. Thanks!

You call them and tell them what happened. They'll fax or email you some forms which you take with you to the Apple service provider to have them fill out.

Then the service provider does the repair, and you can either a) pay yourself, and Safeware sends you a refund check, or b) arrange to have Safeware pay the service provider directly. Option b takes a lot more paperwork.

When I had to make a Safeware claim, it was totally hassle-free. If you do a search in this forum for Safeware, you should be able to find my whole experienced typed up.

When I did it, they sent me a box from Hartford Computer Group. Then I sent it to them and they sent it back. It still wasn't working, so I sent it back to Hartford with a specific detail of what was wrong the second time around, and they fixed it. It's been pretty good since.

Great service!

Told me to take to Apple Store.... they sent it in for repair and gave me an invoice to pay when I picked up. Check arrived before computer was returned.

Paid Apple and picked up Ibook!
