Hey All

I'm looking for a PCMCIA Wi-Fi ""G"" card for my Pismo, thats supported by 10.3.6???

I can't believe Apple doesn't have a list you can DownLoad that has all the supported Hardware for there OS somewhere...

Tried buying the Software from Orange Micro but they DON'T TAKE Money Orders... Even went down there to give them Cash, but No Way... Funny a Software company that doesn't take Real Money...

Thanks!!!

Brad

Apple has never supported any third-party WiFi cards. Any that have worked with the AirPort drivers have done so as an unintended side-effect. So no, they won't have any list.

Apple wants you to buy new Macs, not upgrade old ones.

Hey tooki

OK...

Its funny that they(Apple)don't list any HardWare that 10.3.6 supports, you have to know in advance what to look for... Kind of Sad...

Thanks!!!

Apple wants you to buy a new PowerBook, not a third party card!

Any wireless PC-card with a broadcom chip is supported natively in Panther. I'm using a Buffalo AirStation 54g card, model # WLI-CB-G54A for $30 from target.com (web only). The model # of the mac-compatible card ends in a "A", if the model number ends in another letter then it's not for the mac: (target.com also seems to have the best price)

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...asin=B000099O5Y

This card supports appletalk over the wireless portion, whereas most 3rd party cards don't. Provided, of course, that your wireless router supports appletalk over wireless (most 3rd party don't) such as the Buffalo Airstation WAP. Macsense also has a wireless card with the same chip, afaik, and there are others.

Funny how the original question has a simple answer and yet the discussion somehow devolved into a discussion around needing new hardware and Apple's marketing strategy--without attempting to answer the question?

Is there any computer company that doesn't prefer that you buy new hardware? Why should Apple's strategy provoke recriminations?
