My brand new (~3 or 4 months old) PB 15" dropped about 2.5 feet and landed screen down while closed. There was no exterior damage (i.e., the casing is still in tact with no dents or scratches) but the LCD itself is shot. There are no physical cracks on the outside of the LCD, but the inside of the screen (I don't know a better way to describe this) is cracked in several locations.

I know that Apple doesn't cover accidental damage, but is there a way to play this off as something that wasn't accidental because there are no signs of it having been dropped?

I am a college student and finances are extreeeemely limited. Please help! Thanks,

xec17

Even if there are no visible signs of physical impact (at first glance), iīm absolutely sure an experienced technician will be able to track down the reason why your screen has failed. Give it a shot but i wouldnīt hold my hopes too high that itīll work for you.

if you have the broken glass type look on the LCD itself that's very much evidence that the screen is broken.

Yeah, unfortunately, you're out $1297 if you get it replaced by Apple.

if you can't get it fixed, or do not wish to pay to get it fixed, shoot me an e-mail....

I am looking to buy a PB with a busted screen to run as a carputer in my Civic...
