Hi ya
Just a quickie... as the iBook range just had a bump does this mean that the GPU is up for handling tiger??? i know that the older one will be able too but they won't have the hardware to handle the fancy addictions to expose..
am thinking of dumping my G4 1.25 eMac or a new iBook..
Would love a PowerBook but once i've applied the spanning hack it'll suit me down to the ground...
hope you guys can help me out
thanks
Darren

The graphics card - Radeon M9 (9200) w/32MB RAM should be enough to handle Tiger, assuming it doesn't go insane and render the entire GUI in OpenGL.
It'll definately be usable at the least, should still be fairly fast.

Even if it doesn't, I'm sure that there will be some type of backwards-compatable mode, like standard Quartz is to Quartz Extreme.

The current iBooks doesn't support the Core Image technology introduced in Tiger. You need a card capable of pixel-level programming, like the ATI 9600 or GeforceFx 5200. If you don't, Core Image will be software emulated.

Next iBook update will most likely be in April. I'll guess those iBooks will support Core Image.
