Does anyone use neoprene sleeves for their ibooks/powerbooks? I need an inexpensive sleeve that I can slide into a backpack. Do the neoprene sleeves provide enough protection for the computer? Thanks

I've got one and love it. Its small as the ibook and really does provide decent protection. I don't even remember the manufacturer, but the logo in it looks like a wave in a circle. (may be dr. bott?)

But the sleeve will definitely provide enough protection for you, unless you plan on doing some serious dropping of it regularly.

I use them since I got my first notebook. Asolutely perfect if you want to put your notebook into a backpack. Very good scratch protection.

I used a couple of higoto sleeves for my blueberry iBook, Pismo and Tibook. They have a second sleeve for the power adapter and a mouse. And they have handles for a good grip.

In the moment I have a tucano for my 12 inch Powerbook. Its cheap but also ok.

I got myself one of these too so I could carry my iBook to college in my backpack - absolutely amazing. Very nice protection, very small and inexpensive and even with the Neoprene sleeve the iBook is still tiny and handy.
There are several sleeves out there though and I had to try some to find one that actually fits. Some of'em were too big, some didn't have any kind of protection against scratches caused by the zipper. The one I eventually bought fits best and offers best protection - the Networx Neoprene SecondSkin for 19,99€

Marware Sportfolio II is the only way to go IMHO. I've had it since day 1 of my PB purchase and never regret buying it along side my 'book.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

Another vote for the ZeroShock sleeve. They're truly amazing. Heck I even got one for my digital camera and iPod.
PowerBook 12" Combo 1.5Ghz 1.25GB Ram 100GB HDD - Yep it's PPC! I'll wait for the 3rd generation MacTel when they're at their best :)

How is the tucano? Does it have any zipper protection? I think I might pick one up when I go to Fry's to get a 512 stick of ram (only $60!).

Also, does it fit nice and tight around your pbook? Do you think a 12 inch ibook will fit inside of it?

Thanks

Hi again,

the tucano has a zipper protection and the fit is as perfect as a black swimsuit would fit Claudia Schiffer ;o)

Since the iBook is only slighly larger than the powerbook there is no doubt that it will also fit well. Neoprene stretches easily but always goes back into its old shape.
