I have an 800MHz TiBook with a combo drive, but I can't get it to read a DVD+RW. It just spits it back out.

I created this DVD in iDVD, saved it as an image, and recorded it onto a DVD+RW on a PC's DVD burner. The DVD plays fine in the PC and in DVD players.

I would think that my drive should be able to read this format. Does it need a firmware update to read this?

I searched the forums and didn't find an answer. Does anyone know? Thanks!

I imagine it wouldn't - the original Superdrives were only capable of recognising and writing to the -R/-RW format. It is only in the past couple of years that any DVD drives able to recognise and write to both formats (+ and -) have been made. The latterday PowerBooks are able to read and write to both, but that doesn't help you much. A firmware update won't help either as there isn't one.
