Wallstreet 500mhz 392 megs Panther 10.3.2.8 system boots and runs for a day then refuses to boot past the spinning ball. When trying to reinstall the OS it boots to the smiling mac chimes and then goes so dark you cant read the screen, there is text there but not really readable ?? any help will be appreciated

Wallstreets are not in the Panther supported machines list. How do you managed to install Panther in the first place? XPostFacto maybe?

Sorry for not suggesting a solution, but your post raises more questions than asks for answers.

Wallstreets are not in the Panther supported machines list. How do you managed to install Panther in the first place? XPostFacto maybe?

I'm not sure what wallstreet it is ,but it does have a Sonnet cpu upgrade according to Apples upgrade site the wallstreet does not require a firmware upgrade so I didnt do That ??

Your right its not panther but Jaguar

As far as I know, there are no firmware updates for the Wallstreet.

Are you sure your Jaguar disk is OK (scratches or something)? Have you tried to reset the PMU? Here is how to do it (look for the model PowerBook G3 Series M4753).
