G4 TIBook does not boot you get three chimes then nothing ??

I have a 15" G4 tiPowerbook that when powered on just beeps three times and then just a black screen no other sign of Life. I got this computer from Gov surplusand don't know how much money to put into it. the beeps sound like the sound you get from a pc when there are memory problems ?

Probably the same. Pop the keyboard off and see how much RAM there is--then try booting with one stick removed, switching slots, with proven RAM from another 'Book...it sounds like it could very well be RAM.

Yeah its definately memory. I had my TiBook have this exact same problem a few months ago and the diagnosis from Apple was bad third party memory. Though this was after a screen replacement Apple did on it.

Well I replaced the Ram with known good Ram and get a single Beep. the ram is good because I took it out of a working G4 TI powerbookme thinks this machine is in Bad shape! any suggestions ?? thank for your help
