What are the good books out there that will help me with ILIFE 04 and the panther Operating system???
Does anyone have any first hand experience that can help a recent convert??
Thanks

The best way, IMO, to learn something new is to use it. Take your iBook and play with it for a while. Don't be afraid to click on anything, as it is quite hard to mess up. I've "swichd" back in April, 2004. I got a book from my library but returned it the next day because it was way to easy. It had stuff like "how do I turn off my computer" and "how do I use the mouse".

I am also brand new to Apple. Just bought David Pogue's The Missing Manual: Panther edition. So far, it has been very helpful. I think that he also has a Missing Manual devoted to ilife.

Missing Manual books are always a good choice for help. We got the O'Riely Pocket Guide to Mac OS X (Panther) when we got our iBook, but we've only had to refer to it once in a great while.
Play with it! If you get stumpped, check out the help-don't be surprised with the depth and ease of navigation in Mac help. If you STILL have a question, post it here (in the appropriate forum; iLife questions should be in the Software forum, questions about the computer itself belong here).

I bought a book at Borders called iMovie & iDVD for Mac OSX. It's by Jeff Carlson and covers version 4 of both. Very informative. I think it was $20.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You could always get a mouse (a two button or however many button mouse) and right click to your hearts content.

Not the best person to talk here as I've always used Macs to an extent, only started using OSX of late though
The help is pretty good. A two button mouse is damn useful. A wheel mouse is even more useful. The iLife apps do a lot less than you'd expect them to for the hype the salesman probably gave you (based on the Compustore-run Apple Store in Dublin, anwyway), particularly iMovie. Don't be afraid of the Terminal. If you've used any other UNIX before, be surprised at whats there already (apache, php, perl, etc) and whats not (pico...)

I'll second that... get a USB multi-button mouse, whatever brand you prefer...

Compare it to what you might get from a Windows OS... Macs are WAY better with help.
