hi gang,

i have the 12" 800ghz g4 ibook running 10.3.7 and i was attempting to watch a commercial dvd on it and none of the ones i tried, about a half dozen will mount.

i live in nyc and purchased it at the soho apple store.

i can play dvd-r's no problem. i purchased this new stock config which i upgraded ram and added ax card but this is strange.

does anyone have any ideas.

Check your OS X preferences and make sure the CD/DVD auto mount in the right programs

I had the same problem with a client of mine's Apple Mac

I sorted it by reinstalling the System software

I know it's not the answer you were looking for but it will work after a system re-install... promise!

Your hedline is annoying...

Do you think more people...

will read it if you are vague... ?

Try vlc or something besides the Apple player. If it plays, you'l need to be a clean reinstall.

after repairing my permissions in disk utilities, it is mounting and playing commercial dvd's.

i had all the proper programs checked in systems preferences/cd-dvd prior to repairing permissions.

if my subject line offended your sensibilities, then i apologize. i will make a note of it for the future.

as always,

chung

ps. this computer is not my main computer so i don't i have repaired disk permissions in a long time which i do regularly on my tower.
