Hi everybody, this is my first post although I´ve been reading you a lot.
Three days ago, while watching some movies (avi and QT formats) the sound coming out from the PB internal loudspeakers started to sound extremely low and like if you put your hands on the loudspeakers (and somehow metallic).
However the sound is normal if I use the headphones line out.

I am still covered with the 90 days of Apple Care and have tried to solve it (phone via) with the Apple Tech. Service reseting PVRAM, reseting with shift+ctrl+alt and so on, trying to find out if it is a software problem before going to an Apple Center.
Also I have been looking through the web and the only thing I got is something about problems with a program used to watch movies called VLC that I use to work with.
Anyway it is a very rare problem.
Any help??

When you startup your computer, is the chime loud or muffled?

If it's muffled, I'd guess that it's a hardware problem.

So f1000, you mean that even reinstalling the system would do nothing, don´t you?

Affirmative. Unless you want to void your warranty, have an Apple tech open up your laptop and check the sound card and/or speaker connections.
