Well I just got my first Mac. I got the 12 inch powerbook...and I really like it. My first question on the board here too. I wanted to use my superdrive just to try the thing out. I was pretty upset that they did not include toast with the unit, but anyway I wanted it so I went out and got it. For some reason everytime I try to burn a DVD I get an error. I did some searching around on the net and found out that I should try using the burner at its slowest speed...1Xdvd. I still seem to be getting an error. After lossing about 8 dvds I thought that I might bring this question up again. Is there something wrong with my super drive?

It could be an issue with either the drive or the DVD-R media you use. Try a different type of DVD-R and see if that helps. If not, then call Apple and they'll help you sort things out.

Nice, Thanks for the fast reply. I am going to try to burn another dvd later on today if I have some free time. I will get the real error code maybe you can give me some more info on that. Thanks again.

If you're having problems burning with Toast - why not try burning with the Finder or with iDVD to help narrow down the problem?
