I was packing my laptop bag back up at the airport and it slipped off the bar stool. Landed face first (latch side) on the ground, stayed vertical. Damage done: The underside (bottom) part of the powerbooks' case needs to be replaced, Rest seems fine except white spot recall that needs to be done. I have applecare, what should I do?

Send it in for whitespot recall and hope they fix it for free without mentioning it??? Say it fell off my icurve and dented when it hit my desk?? Anyone have any idea how much they will charge for repair (worst case senario).....

Thanks!

Applecare won't cover the accidental damage. If you send it in for the white spots they'll probably replace the LCD and send it back. Getting it fixed through apple is going to cost an arm and a leg, probably about $600-$800. I wouldn't worry about making up stories about how it got busted, because anything you come up with won't be covered anyway.

Then that would be Griffin's fault, and not Apple's, right? If you have white spots, I would simply consider yourself lucky if they don't use the dent as an excuse to get out of replacing the screen.
