Just for confirmation, it is impossible to have this setup right?

You need a G5 with that DDL card right?

That is correct. The only graphics card capable of driving the 30" displays is the Nvidia 6800 DDL. This card was specially made for Apple.

you think one day we will be able to plug that beast to our PBs?

i wanted to buy the 23 until i saw the 30!

well, you can run a 23 inch screen with a 12/15/17 inch Powerbook internal screen and have 35/38/40 inch combined screens
