I have a G4 1.25 Ghz Powerbook running OS 10.3.7 and lately it's been shutting off automatically on me. A widow appears just before shutting down asking me something like"Your power books is shutting down, what do you want to do - shut down, sleep, cancel, ..." This is close to what it says, but it happens so fast I don't remember for sure.

By the way, I was plugged in at the time and had maybe two applications running - Safari and Mail and maybe even itunes.

Any ideas?

Try a PMU (Power Management Unit) reset. I believe on that machine it's shift-ctrl-option-power with the battery removed and AC connected. Then wait ten seconds and power the machine back up.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3
