Hey,
I just got a new ibook a couple weeks ago, and upgrade to 10.3.7 today. After it finished and it said to restart, now when i turn on the computer, it says System extension cannot be used "/library/estensions/scrollpad/appleADBMouse.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Now whenever I touch the track pad, an error pops up, and says i have to restart. Also, in system preferences in the mouse and keyboard icon, there is no longer a track pad tab. Right now, im using a usb mouse which works fine.

I tried downgrading back to 10.3.6 but it says I can't because I have 10.3.7 installed.

Anyone know whats wrong?

Thanks,
John

I'd recommend you download and install the "combo" updater from Apple's web site. Chances are that will fix your problem. If not, you'll probably have to reinstall from your iBook CD and then update to 10.3.7 (with the combo updater).

would it be possible for him to plug in a usb mouse and manually fix it? (replace/reinstall driver)

how would you reinstall the driver?
Also, If I try to install from the cd, it says I can't install it, unless I completely erase the hd, and I was sorta looking for a way to go around that.

EDIT: Installed sidetracker. It works now, but i still get the /library/estensions/scrollpad/appleADBMouse.kext improperly installed error. but all the sidetrack features work, and the trackpad tab is back in system perferences. Does this mean I have to buy sidetrack?

That's not right. You don't have to erase the hard drive at all. Just have the CD in the drive, reboot the machine while holding the C key, and you'll be good to go. Select the "Archive and Install" option. This will not touch any of your data, but it will install a new System. After a few days/weeks when you're sure everything is OK, simply delete the old System.
