Hi,

I have a PowerBook G4 15" 1 Ghz... aluminium I believe.... I have a total of 512 meg of RAM at the moment and I wanted to go to 768 meg or even 1 gig.

Did anybody ever put CORSAIR SODIMM in their PowerBook?

Thank you for your help.

Fady.

I have never. But I think you should stick with the outpost RAM, since people have tried it and problems have been minimal.

Corsair has lately been recognized as the best in both laptop and desktop RAM. You shouldn't have a problem with them.

I have not used this ram but it seems to be the gold standard that a lot of people use when it comes to ram.

Is your powerbook a 12, 15, or 17 incher? Could you put a PC3200 gb module in a 12 inch powerbook?

Well... he can't be referring to a 12", seeing as it doesn't come in a 1.5 GHz variety. I'd guess that it'd fit a 12" PB just fine, but I'm not positive.

pc3200 memory can be installed in 12 inch 1.33GHz powerbook as long as the memory has CL3. I tried Hynix pc3200 1GB memory into my 12inch 1.33GHz powerbook. It works fine. But system profile shows that the CL is 3, not 2.5 which is for PC2700 memory.

I've had a great experience with Crucial in my 15" Albook. I'm currently assembling parts to build a gaming PC, and I was originally planning to go with Crucial for the RAM because of my positive experience with them, but I heard such great things about Corsair that I decided to give them a try instead. It seems like they're the current favorite, at least in the PC world.

I use Crucial in my ibook G4, Geil in my powerbook G4, and Corsair in my Gaming PC. All three brands work like a charm, though the Corsair had higher performance ratings (which only my pc could harness so it didn't matter). Pricewise, Corsair was probably the most expensive, while Geil was the cheapest, though Geil does make mac specific ram.

I personally have disregarded Corsair RAM because the company chooses to promote its RAM for specific OEMs while not making any mention of Apple. I recommend against Linksys networking hardware for the same reason.
