Hi,

I just bought a new ibook 12 and really like it. Compared with
my nell notebook, I would say it is definitilly worth the price.

Two questions
1. How many space I can save by reinstall mac x? Currently, the
ibook only have 18G available which means 12G has being taken, that
appears a lot. (Or is there a way I can uninstall some software without reinstall the whole max x?)

2. Any recommendation for good html, css editor? (free or low price)

thanks
chong

1. You can reinstall Mac OS X without non-English resources, it saves a *LOT* of space (click on the customize button in the Mac OS X installer). Alternatively you can use Delocalizer. Also, you should have in /Applications the developer tools package which takes some space too. You can install developer tools (if you need them) and then delete the package file.

You should be able to delete Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 9 Applications folder as you will probably only use Mac OS X (it saves about 300mb).

2. I leave this one to someone else maybe BBedit ?

MONOLINGUA also works. Do a search on versiontracker or macupdate

Actually the biggest consumption of disk space on the new iBook is the garage band resources. I freed up about 5 gigs worth of things once I used Omni Disk Sweeper. You can find it at versiontracker.com or Macupdate
