I have noticed a ton of people having problems with their ibook not starting up and not starting off of their CD, I have had the same problem and it has happened again. But, I think I may know whats causing this: It has only happened to my ibook under any version of 10.3. I ran under 10.2.x forever and had no problems, within a week of upgrading to 10.3, that problem happened. I managed to get back to 10.2 and left it there for loing time w/ no probs. Went to 10.3 again one week ago and now the problem is back. So, it seems to point to 10.3. If I remember correctly, it would only boot off of a system 9 CD, installed system 9, at that point I was able to reupgrade to X, pain in the arse if you ask me. Now, if I could only find an old system 9 disk...

I meant to say that the only way to get it to work was to zero out the HD once I botted up on the 9 CD. I know, it sucks, but it was my last resort, you may have more luck

Both my iBooks have worked perfect on 10.3. Not that it matters.

My ibook (G4 1Ghz) won't boot any CDs or DVDs lower then 10.3.3. Was really fun figuring that one out.
