Hello there,

Soon to buy a new Powerbook (after the revisions), and I would like to get accidental damage cover on it, in case it is dropped or whatever.

It seems Applecare doesn't offer this cover, so does anyone know a company that will insure a laptop for accidental damage?

I am in the UK by the way.

Cheers guys!

tooki: Not sure if this is the right place to post this as it's pretty general; if it's not, then sorry.

In the UK... I don't know. I use Safeware here in the US and they include foreign travel, so I was covered visiting my folks in old blighty.

It is $200 for a year, that's probably like £1 nowadays! ;-)

Yep, that's the type of policy i'm after, but nobody in the UK seems to do it.

Lots of retailers like PC World (like Best Buy in America) and John Lewis do accidental damage insurance as an extra when you buy from them, but then you are stuck with the stock system, and I would prefer a built to order system. Why does Apple not offer this? Most other manufactures do, it must put lots of people off, especially students like me.

Thanks for the advice so far.
