Hey all,
I was wondering if there was any economical way of using the Apple 15" Studio display with my old Tibook 500. I've seen the Dr. Bott has an adaptor for $300 but that's ridiculous, there's no way that's worthwhile.
Is there any reasonable way of doing this or am I S.O.L?

You're looking at the wrong adapter.
DVI to ADC adapters, like the one Apple sells, are $99.

If I recall, the TiBook 500 has VGA out and not DVI. The TiBook 667 and 800 where the first to have DVI out.

I think the most economical way is to get a new Display. 15" LCDs are dirt cheap, and I've seen ads for 17" ones for less than $200.

solved the problem with an external 17" LCD.
In regards to ^above, the TiBook 500 has VGA input, not DVI, hence the adaptor is $300 not $99.
