Bit of a long story but I'd like to remove the outside aluminium screen cover (with the Apple logo in it) to try and straighten one corner, then fit it back on. Seems to be stuck on somehow - has anyone ever removed one before? Any help appreciated!

Note that you are voiding your warranty.

Remove the two screws in the lower corners.

You then need to use something like a credit card (hard thin plastic) and work it around the screen bezel to pop all the snaps around the lid. Be careful when doing this around the clutch because of the display inverter and antenna wires that pass through there.

It's really not that easy and not for the faint of heart since you could bend the lid while trying to get it off, making the problem worse, or damage the display or inverter.

Hmmm. It's out of warranty and I should have sent it back when I had the chance. I maybe selling it so I don't know whether to try fixing it or sell it as it is. I hate decisions like this!
