Suddenly today, it just pops back open. Is there an easy fix for this or do I have to bring it in to a store? If so, what are they going to do, they probably can't fix it right there can they?

Easy fix actually. Lower the display almost closed so the latch pops out from the screen. Grab that in your hands, open the screen a bit, and bend the latch ever so slightly down. Close and see if it is better. If not, try once more bending it just a bit further. If that still doesn't work, Apple may have to service it.

When you say "down" what does that mean? Like bend it towards the keybard or towards me? I'm not sure I understand.

if your screen is at 90 degree position from the keyboard, bend it downwards towards the keyboard.
