I'm looking to replace my AirPort Card with an external card option.

Why do I want to do this? I'd like to be able to connect an external antenna that I'm building to boost the range of my PowerBook so I can use it from the far end of my yard. Presently my PowerBook can't see my base station at that distance but my Pocket PC can.

I've heard that some of the Buffalo Cards are good options. Any other suggestions? Any thoughts on the Buffalo cards?

Thanks in advance.

Which PB do you have?

There is a company that makes antenna kits for the powerbooks and still uses the Airport card, they look a little strange but would have to be more convenient than using an external adapter I would think.
It is the same company that made the swing away handle for the TiBook but the name escapes me right now. I did call them at one point and they were very friendly and helpful and suggested an alternative for me that I ended up using for that job.
Better servvice than can be expected.
Found it: www.quickertech.com

I have also used USB adapters and they had connectors for external directional antenna.

Cool, thanks.

According to them the Buffalo Card will do the trick.

I called Buffalo and they clarified that the WLI-CB-G54 Alpha has a MC Card adapter for an external antenna.
