I just had the DC/Sound Card piece replaced on my aluminum PowerBook G4 after dropping it, and there's a few peculiarities I was hoping someone could explain. When I plug in the adapter, sometimes the ring around it lights up and sometimes it doesn't.

WHEN IT DOES NOT LIGHT UP: The battery percentage does not increase, nor do the tiny green lights on the bottom of the battery light up, but the computer does indicate that it's plugged in.

WHEN IT DOES LIGHT UP: The tiny green lights under the batter DO light up, and the battery percentage shows that it's not just plugged in, but that it's charging.

I just got the computer back today from a local repair shop, and they guarantee their work for 90 days. Do I need to bring it back?

I just performed a little test... while the ring was lit up, I took out the battery. While the battery was out, I toyed with the adapter until the ring light went out, and the computer stayed on... so I'm guessing it's still supplying power. I just don't know why the battery doesn't charge when the light is out.
