Sweet. I didn't know that. I looked up the specs and it only said 1gb

1GB SO-DIMMs weren't readily available two years ago when the 17-inch Powerbook was released, and didn't become available from Apple for some time.

As many do, 2x1GB SO-DIMMs fit and work perfectly in the machines, as some here know
