How well would Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Motion run on a Rev. A 12 inch 867 powerbook with maxed ram (640mb)? They system req. seem to be exatly my specs so it worries me on how well it will run.

Im planning on switching completely to mac for video editing and Im wondering whether I should just start off by getting the production suite and using my powerbook, or not bother and wait until I get a powermac THEN get the production suite?

Sounds like it doesn't matter when you will get that suit if you get a PowerMac for sure.

Maxed out the rev. a 12" PB can carry 1,25 GB RAM.

I'm sorry that I have no direct answer to your question.

well I will be getting a powermac i just dont know when. I just dont want to get it now, find out my powerbook cant handle it, and have it sitting around for 6 months before I get it. But those 6 months could also be time for me to train myself really well in those programs and be ready when I get the powerful G5.

it takes up to 1.25gb? I thought it said the max is 640mb for that one?

I don't think it will be fun to let run FCP on a 12" display but it will work.
Motion could be a problem because it needs some type of graphicscard at minimum.

Yes, the rev. a 12" PB can handle 1.25 GB RAM.
