I got the iBook about 2 weeks ago, and it is my first mac. I have traditionally been a big gaming-PC-builder-guy, but after using my girlfriend's powerbook for a while, I fell in love with OSX. And after seeing the portability of the 12 inch iBook, I decided to get one.

But anyways, on to the question. One of the little rubber peg things fell off of the bottom of my iBook and its lost. Does anyone here know of any place to get a replacement? its not a huge deal, but it is kind of annoying not having the laptop sit perfectly flat on my desk. I guess I could send the thing to Apple, but I don't want to be without my iBook for 2 weeks just so I can get a little rubber peg.

Thanks

If you give Apple a call they'll probably send a new set to you.
PowerBook 12" Combo 1.5Ghz 1.25GB Ram 100GB HDD - Yep it's PPC! I'll wait for the 3rd generation MacTel when they're at their best :)

Uh, yeah ... good luck with that. In your place, I'd just order some Pawz by Radtech. IMO, life is too short to try to get things from Apple for free.

I would bring it to an Apple store and they should order the part for you for free since its still under warranty. Then when it comes in, you can pick it up.

That seems to be Apple's rep. However, every single time I have had a complaint with Apple, they resolved it in the most effiecient manner I could have imagined. I'd say it's been about six or seven different instances where I've either requested money back, service, free keys, etc. from Apple and they have always been more than willing to help.

I suppose it depends which customer service representative you get. Sometime they're fabulous; at other times, they are stupid and rude. As for me, I have a tendency to simply order something I know will solve the problem. It's a more expensive approach, I suppose, but it does save me time and hassle.

Thanks guys. Those PAWZ things look pretty cool. Has anyone tried them? do they stay on well? I'll most likely order some of those.

No direct experience myself. But FWIW, Radtech does make many products that are well thought of. I am awaiting delivery of my first iBook Wednesday, and I've already bought WildEepz and a Screensavr from them in anticipation.

It's my experience that any Apple repair shop has a huge bag of those things, and they'll just hand them to you. Give that a try.

My experience exactly.

I've even heard of Apple reps giving away sheets of rubber feet when they hear your problem.
