Ok, I've been to a few different Mac forums recently and have been over whelmed by the ammount of negative feedback associated with iBooks! Holy crap!
I am looking for some not-so-negative opinions or experiences. Certainly the problems must be the minority and not the majority. Otherwise, how could Mac stay in business?
 Thanks!

People with computer problems tend to post about them. People with perfectly-functional computers tend to be quieter.
The iBook/500/DVD/384MB/10GB I ordered from the Apple Store online not 10 minutes after the May 1, 2001 unveiling is still running great...my step-aunt uses it for e-mail and Microsoft Office.
My main Mac is still my TiBook/667/DVI/1GB/30GB. I just bumped the RAM up to 1GB from 768MB after deciding I'm going to keep using it for a while. Great screen, good speed (I haven't tried a newer AlBook much, though), great expandability, and rugged. It's had absolutely none of the typical TiBook problems but I did have to get a small power connector repair done on it about two months into ownership (Apple fixed it in two days, including shipping time). I bought it *refurbished* in February 2003 and haven't found a compelling reason to upgrade yet...I may just use it throughout the AppleCare three-year period unless something compelling comes along...

I love my iBook. Infact it's a replacement for the Rev C PowerBook I had (it met with a nasty accident).
My iBook travels everywhere with me and is able to do everything I ask of it.
Of course you'll read problems in those forums because that's essentially what they're for.
But if I had to choose between an iBook and a PowerBook, the iBook wins hands down.

PowerBook 12" Combo 1.5Ghz 1.25GB Ram 100GB HDD - Yep it's PPC! I'll wait for the 3rd generation MacTel when they're at their best :)

I am glad to know that at least a few forumites are happy with the iBooks. It returns faith to my heart.

Here is why I like my iBook:
-It attracts hot women.
-It's very tough
-It's easily more stylish than a PC notebook
-It's small with great battery life
... and most of all ...
-It's running Unix.

I recently switched from a Windows XP desktop to an iBook and OS X and I love it. I find myself doing more than I ever did with my PC. I guess the fact that Mac apps are incredibly easy to use have me wanting to do more. I take it with me to school, I have to get my Airport Card activated so I can use the wireless access on campus.
