Does anybody have any experience with this? I just stepped on the cord and caused a massive spill resulting in this http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...11#post2379611

Anybody have any info about the time it takes to make a claim?

I *THINK* the way to go about it is this:

You have the repair done and get a receipt (pay for it with your AMEX), then contact AMEX about it and send them the receipt and they'll credit you your money back.

I'd recommend speaking with AMEX first though.

Call Amex first - they may request you to take it to a service centre that they nominate.

My AC Adaptor blew out after about 18 months of use. I called Amex, and they just told me to buy a new one. I did and they took it off of my bill.

Not sure how they would handle a more expensive repair - I'd call them to see how to do it.

I just filed a claim yesterday for the Purchase protection plan (1st 90 days after purchase). It covers all accidental mishaps up to $1K of damage. I had to fill out a form from amex, provide a statement that had the item on it, and a copy of the reciept from apple with the pb on it. I'm going to get a repiar estimate on saturday.

Any guesses on the cost of replacing the superdrive and bottom case?
