My/space/bas/has/just/come/off/my/ibook.it/was/feeling/a/little/spongey/and/loose/so/i/took/it/off/to/try/and/fix/it/but/have/no/idea/how/to/get/it/back/on/please/help!
PS:i/apologise/for/the/lack/of/spaces/in/the/post/but/it/was/easier/this/way/than/pushing/that/little/rubber/thing.

If you pull the keyboard out, it should be pretty clear based on how the other keys attach. If you can't figure it out, look for someone mechanically inclined. It's not something I can just explain.

the key caps float on a scissor hinge. on the right side of the hinge is a cross member (similar to a rung on a ladder) that hooks onto a metal hook on the keyboard baseplate. on the left side of the hinge are outward facing prongs that correspond to metal loops; they need to be pinched to go in. connect the right side first.
i just did this operation yesterday and it is extremely tricky, even more difficult with an opaque key cap so you can't really see what's going in where. this requires a steady hand and patience. good luck!

I'm looking at an iBook right now that this does not apply to. They aren't all identical. The iBook G4 is not built like this. The iBook G3 is, but the space bar is a little different.

as long as none of the plastic on the button is damaged, it should just pop back on. inspect closely and make sure you didn't crack the attachement clips.
