Hello guys I am having problems with my monitor, I just bought a 17'' LCD ViewSonic VX715 and my powerbook just don't go to the clamshell mode, whats the problem!!! what can I do? with my other monitor I didnt have any problems at all... it was an old 17inches samsung.

btw, on the monitor says '' NO SIGNAL '' when the powerbook is in sleep mode , might be that I guess

Steps to get clamshell working. Hook up monitor to PB. Put PB to sleep. Use mouse or keyboard to wake up PB while it's closed in sleep. Voila your external should be on, but if you look at your PB's screen it should stay off. If you have no problems with spanning mode, I can't see why you would with clamshell mode.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)
