Is the copy of Quicken 2005 that came in the new iBook 12" I got two days ago the full version or merely a trial?

I read somewhere else that it is a 30 day trial version.

Nuts. I positively hate the practice (of which Apple and many others are guilty) whereby they list as bundled software items that can be downloaded for free (e.g., iTunes, Acrobat Reader, iCal, etc.) as if they somehow represented added value. It's somewhat sleazy, since those who are not well acquainted with the software market might be dazzled by the long list of "included" software that doesn't cost the manufacturer anything to simply load on to the hard drive prior to sale.

I think only full, licensed versions of software should be considered to be "bundled" with hardware.

If I'm not mistaken it is a full version. Apple's site doesn't say anything about it being a trial version.

You're forgetting about R&D costs.

Trial versions are the best way to market software. Some people will never use something unless it's on their machine to try out. Also, with full trial versions, you are able to "unlock" them if you know where to find the codes.
