from my brand spanking new iBook. I picked it up about 8:30pm tonight at Comp USA. It took me all of about 2 minutes to figure out how to get it to connect to my linksys wireless router. However, being I'm new to Macs, its taking a bit longer to figure out usage.

I purchased a 512 gb stick of ram to put in it as well. Now, if I can figure out how to do that....

Any ideas?

unplug and take out the battery
and there is two tabs at the top of the keyboard that u can take the keyboard off with
then u can see the airport extreme card, take it out carefully

then there is a screw or two to take off, then a nice metal shield to pop off

then you should be able to see where to stick the ram chip

but if you are not comfortable with opening it up, then maybe get someone to do it for you, its rather easy if you have done it before

and if you do it yourself, make sure when you put it together to "snap" in the antenna into the airport card firmly

when i added ram to mine i didnt "snap" it in right and got no wireless signal unless i was like a foot away from my router

there should be somewhere with pics to show you how to install ram, but i have no idea
w3rd..

Congrats on the new iBook.

The manual that came with it should have instructions on how to upgrade the RAM.

Take the keboard off. Remove 2 screws from the plate. Insert RAM. Replace plate and screws. Replace keyboard. 3 minutes all together. Have fun

There's a pdf file inside a folder called "User Guides And Information" at the top level of your hard drive that will show you how to install the RAM.

I've done it, and it's really easy.
