This morning I opened up my 1GHz 17" 768MB Ram Powerbook from sleep, received a few emails, started browsing with Safari and boom (cough), I get the grey message box saying to restart my computer in ~20 languages.

Restarting it crashed on startup. I reset the PRAM. Got in once, and no airport hardware is present. Restarted, still no AP. Fixed permissions, restarted and crashed. Restarted using the Hardware Test CD which of course says all is ok. I opened up the memory cover thinking the AP card was there, I had a 15" which was user accessible and it's not visible. I'm using the system now via Cat 5.

Can you get to the AP Card? Though I don't think it came loose I didn't move the computer, I like to see if it's seated ok.

Any prefs that store or would reset hardware device detection?

Any other ideas before I send this in for warranty service? Have 10 days left on the 1 year warranty.

If a group of mimes are miming a forest and one falls down, does he make a sound?

The Airport card is attached internally to the 17" with a flex cable. It's doubtful that the cable got disconnected, but you'd have to open the box to check. First try setting up a new user or booting up off of an external drive to see if that fixes anything.
