I was thinking about getting a new PowerBook soon, or an iBook, because I want to move to a desktop + laptop configuration and I think having a 15" PB is a bit too big for true laptop usage. (At least in my opinion). Especially when I'll have an Apple 20" Cinema Display for the G5.

I never used my 15" for laptop purposes as I always felt it was too fragile to carry around.

Now that I am planning on getting a Power Mac soon, I was thinking about replacing my TiBook with either a 12" iBook or a 12" PowerBook. I would try to sell my TiBook to offset the cost, which would help. But I am wondering if you guys think it is worth it.

My TiBook is a 1Ghz model, 512MB ram, 64MB Radeon 9000, 60 GB HD. It's been an extremely good computer, but I think I will be doing more field work and a smaller laptop will be more capable.

It helps that the PowerBooks just got updated today. One issue that concerns me is that the brightness on my rooommate's 12" PB is pretty dim compared to my Ti (even when my Ti is set four clicks from full brightness).

Do you guys think I should pull the trigger and get a new 12"? Is it a worthy upgrade over a 15" 1Ghz Ti?
