hello.

i'm not sure where to begin. i have a tibook, 15", powerbook with the latest osx version.

i was playing a game one minute, set my laptop down for a bit, and when i came back on, my computer was treating me like a new user. it was as if i had just received my computer. all my files disappeared. the programs were intact, but it was as if they were just installed, i.e. asking me for user info, license info, etc.

i have no idea how this could have happened, and i don't know where to start troubleshooting. i just disappeared!!!!!!

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks.
daniel.

well that isn't normal.

couple possibilities:

(1) downloaded game from non-reputable source, and game is actually a trojan that deletes your data?

(2) were you running really low on hard disk space?

hi. thanks for the quick reply.

1. i've had the poker game for several weeks, no problems until now, and it's a legit copy i paid for.

2. i had about 2 gigs left on the 60 gig powerbook drive.

....hmm....do you think i somehow screwed up the permissions?
