PB 12" 1.5 - This is going to be the all around speediest and most compact package. I love this notebook more than any other one out there. I have one of these on order - cant wait! gfx card aint the best but does have ample memory (64mb) had the orrig. 867mhz and loved it despite the speed diff. Now it is full featured (same bus as 15,17, DVI)
iBook 14" - in my opinion- TOO BIG (not necessary) the 12 is great! good enough for speed. scratches easily... and in reality I think the 12pb is better build. And the 12" PB is close in cost... bigger hd and many more valuable features (BT etc..)
Powerbook 15 - go for the 12" pb instead. (if you can't tell, I am a snob about portability) BUT - if you don't use a second monitor and do graphic work, you may like the extra screen real-estate on the 15. Have had the 15 for a LONG TIME (4 versions of the Ti, and both prev versions of the AL)
I have had all of the powerbook models and the 12" ibook twice (orrig, and 1.07ghz) from what I have had, I love the 12PB the best out of all of the portables. Best mix of stuff and it is dang beautiful for a computer! Hope this helps some! :-) Good luck!

I have been thinking about the 12 ich ibook or pb... and will go or the powerbook. the price difference in quite small considering how much extra you get.
what are you going to use it for? external monitor when at home?

The PB12 still can't use 2Gb of ram, no backlit keyboard and other weaknesses compared to the 15s and 17s.

I decided on the 12" because I want something extremely portable. I am a student and I move around a lot between various libraries, classrooms and my home.
I use a 20" Cinema display back at my condo.

...like the lack of Gigabit ethernet, but that may not be important to you (it is to me, though...I use mine a lot with my Gigabit-equipped PC).
I still don't know which form factor I'm going to replace my 15" TiBook with sometime later this year...
