Is there any way to fix a 12" warped case? I have found instructions for taking the 12" powerbook apart, can I do that and flex the case myself to try to fix the warp? Right now it is in front of the battery, and on the side near the hard drive. Thanks.

I wouldn't suggest it. I got a slight warp in the front of my machine and a slight warp on the right side of my machine (few mm), and I try my best to live with it. Surprisingly it doesn't bother me all too much, I try to enjoi™ my machine instead of worrying bout petty stuff.

I don't think that's petty stuff. Macs are better because of their attention to detail and getting it right. When they don't get it right those flaws stick out like a sore thumb.

To the OP, some people have fixed the flex without having to disassemble the case. Here's a thread on Apple's discussion boards:

Thanks for the link, but I am referring to the other warping problem with powerbooks

Where the grey plastic meets the metal on the side where the lcd latch is, to the right (with the battery "behind" it) it is about 2mm bowed forward. I figured I would disassemble the powerbook and take a aluminum trim bender and flatten the area in an attempt to fix the warp. Was wondering if anyone has tried this before.
