Maybe I don't understand the question, but what's wrong with having Apple put a new one in?

Sorry m8:

Apple said that it would cost me £900.00, to replace the Logic Board.

The machine cost me £350.00, in New York.

That's still a deal.

I've never needed repairs done to my Mac, so I'm not sure where you'll find the best prices. Try macresq.com or maybe smalldog.com.

You probably bought a stolen machine.

Then go back to the reputable dealer from which you bought the computer and either see if they can fix it, or buy another one for £350.00 in New York.

If you can't do that, then how much will it cost you to replace the machine? Is it cheaper to have Apple fix it?

Good point. I didn't occur to me that the machine probably wasn't working when he bought it.
