Hi my reseach assistant has an G4 iBook, 1 GHz
It's screen started to fail 1 week after the 1-year Applecare contract expired.
The behavior of the screen resembles the logic board failure that is noted on Apple's website but her serial number does not fall in the range that Apple promises to service for this problem.
She has called AppleCare multiple times. They basically say they can't talk to her without her paying $50, and/or that there is nothing they can do anyway.
Does anyone have any ideas about what she can or should do about this to try to optimize her situation?
Does anyone think that it is appropriate for her to pay $50 to talk to them?
