At present I have the 12", dvi version, with 1.25 gig of RAM, 1 gig processor. I am very happy with it but faster is better. Does anyone know how much faster the new 1.5 gig 12" will feel ? Is anyone else thinking of upgrading or are you waiting for the 12" G5 PB :-)

I have the same as you but with less RAM and there is no way I will upgrade for an extra 500 MHz. I'll wait it out until the G5 books.

I have a 12", but rev B, 1GHz.

Even if we assume that the next rev will be G5, I'm still upgrading now. Not because the jump from my 1 GHz 12" to a 1.67 GHz 15" will be overwhelming, but it should last through the first rev of the G5 PowerBook (if it really gets announced that is). If a G5 PowerBook gets announced this year, I certainly don't want to beta test it. I'll gladly let others do that and upgrade when they release rev B a year or so from now.

I still think Dual Core G4's are suspect. As to answer the question, I was going to upgrade but not because my machine is slow, but for the fact that my mom wanted me to get a DVD burner to make home video DVD's. I'm trying to sell my book for $1000 (even though I think it's worth more) but I've gotten no serious buyers. I don't care though, I love my machine and will gladly be a guinea pig for dual core books when they get released.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)
