Hey fellas,

I have a 15" Titanium and I notice that it gets hot towards the back left part especially when I am using the cd drive and sometimes where the power button is but how hot does it get to be concerned?

Have your fan(s) kicked in yet? The TiBook will get a little warm/hot during heavy use. It's normal. It's the way it dissapates heat.

Yeah, it is totally normal. My Ti gets hot too, I think the back left side is where the processor is... don't worry. First the fans will kick in if the computer gets too hot. It it gets way too hot, it will automatically shut itself down. :-)

Well, good to know, I consider myself a power-user since I do a lot of designing on my tibook. A lot of Adobe CS work. I get a little concerned when it gets hot so I try to turn it off for a little while.

I use a Podium Coolpad Traveller. They allow air to circulate below the machine. There are lots of other solution products for this, too, if you search the forums for suggestions.

You really don't have to turn it off - unless you're using it on your lap and you find the heat unbearable. Computers these days are well-protected against heating problems.

The metal body helps to remove the heat from the processor.
