I recently reinstalled my entire PowerBook* (zeroing the drive to get rid of bad blocks), but now I have a phantom Television display connected at all times. Meaning the machine thinks I have a S-video cable connected to a TV when I don't.

Detecting displays, restarting and go to sleep with cables in and out won't work. I tried searching for any display preference files to delete them but no dice.

Any idea on how to get rid of it? It messes up World of Warcraft

Unfortunately, it sounds like the video detect on your machine is messed up. This is a possible hardware problem, so there's not much you can do other than get a logic board replacement or fix.

Ouch. That sounds bad.

10.3.8 didn't fix it, so I'm inclined to think you are right.

The WoW problem was a NVIDIA-bug with vertex-shaders (though it looked like it was trying to place things on a second monitor leading me to think that was the problem).
