Does anyone else with the NEW rev D powerbooks notice funny behavior in firefox when you are using the double finger scroll ability? Not only does firefox have a hard time scrolling smoothly, but it also decides sometimes to spontaneously go back or forward, and i can't quit figure out how to turn that off.

Yep i have the same problem. It's kind of annoying having to be careful when you scroll.

If you happen to scroll to the left or right when you're also scrolling up or down, Firefox seems to read that as a "page back" (left) or "page forward" (right) command. I figured that out by accident through trial and error, but now that I'm getting used to it, I use it to navigate through pages pretty easily.....

i just wish there was some way to alter the sensitivity of the function. I figured that out too, but if you move your fingers even very very slightly to either direction, firefox goes back/forward. Its too sensitive.

It is quite easy to fix this problem.
Open up Firefox, and type in "about:config" in the URL bar. This will bring up a list of all the user-changeable parameters in Firefox.

Find the one called "mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.action", double-click it, and change the value to 0.

Horizontally scrolling will now have no effect in Firefox.

TO FIX THIS READ THIS!

The fix up above only fixes the problem halfway, it disables horizontal scrolling all together. You need to do make another change to turn the horizontal scroll back to what it should be doing, scrolling pages horizontally.

Alright so I made two changes. To fix the back-forward problem, I did what was posted above. The other problem I had was that scrolling in Firefox was way too sensitive, so I fixed that going to "about:config" again and finding the value "mousewheel.withnokey.numlines" and lowering the number. I had it set at 7 before, now its at 3, and it works better. The only thing is that when I use a mouse with a scroll wheel, I'll have to put it back to 7.

I'm still getting used to this. I'll give it a few days before deciding whether or not to keep it.

I had a really weird problem when I tried to install firefox. It just showed up in my dock and kept bouncing up and down and would.not.stop. I mean, I couldn't force quit the program or anything.
