Ok, I'm new around here. Here's a link to my first post about the joys of ordering a new 12" PB:

And here's where my idealism about Apple starts to get ground down:
I originally placed an order for the 12" PB on 01/20/2005
12:16 PM PST. On 1/31 I get the aforementioned email offering me the chance to switch to the new gen PB. I call one hour after the email was sent and switch my order. Expected delivery date? 2/5. Great.
One week later, I get the dreaded "shipping delay" email. 2/11 is the new date. Damn. The days go by very slowly. I can deal. I can deal.
Today I check the Apple order status web site. Delayed until 2/16. I call.
Apple Rep: "I see that we've changed your delivery date three times. I'm very sorry about that."
Me: "It's ok, I'm disappointed, but whatever. Can you offer me any assurance that I will get my machine by next wednesday the 16th?"
"I've never seen this happen more than 3 times. If it was to, it would be like what's the use of running this company?"
"I'm not sure I'd go that far, but still, I'd like to know if I'll get my machine. It's been almost a month since I first placed this order."
"If you don't, I think we'll be able to offer you some compensation or something."
Really annoying, because I know that my local Apple store has the 12" in stock. Here's the question: What non-Apple components should I buy to trick out the standard 12" that I'm most likely going to pick up tomorrow from the store. I want max storage, RAM, etc. Any highly recommended peripherals I should definitely get?
Still switching from PCs, but not quite as gleefully,
