I currently have a 12" 867 with 640 Mb of RAM. I tested one of the new 1.5 12" in the Apple store and it seems to be a lot quicker than my machine. I have been doing a bit of work with Flash, the usual work stuff with Office, and playing with Garageband. My machine struggles with Garageband. How does the 1.33 Mhz 12" compare to the newer 1.5Mhz? The deals on the previous versions seem to be pretty good right now.

1.33GHz and 1.5GHz PowerBooks will probably be faster than your 867MHz PowerBook. Only the 133MHz FSB vs 166MHz FSB will make a lot of different. I would prefer you to get the 1.5GHz one since you will replace it with a 867MHz PowerBook. A faster computer must make a bigger different. Also, the new 1.5GHz model comes with the new trackpad, 5,400rpm Hard Disk, Bluetooth 2.0 and 8X SuperDrive.
