Are the iBooks shipping from Amazon.com coming bundled with iLife '05? I realize the rebate deal there is a hassle, but people seem to be getting with a little bit of effort. I figure, if I don't get it I'm paying the same price as I would after my edu discount and tax anyway. If I do get it, great deal!

So does anyone know if they're shipping with an iLife '05 disc? If not that would sort of negate most of the potential savings and make ordering from Apple perhaps a better option.

As Detrius will tell you, it is really a function of how new Amazon's Apple CPU stock is. The older these new Macs are, the greater the likelihood is that they will have received older drive images from the factory. iLife 05 is pretty darn new, so I would have to strongly assume they don't have it installed. The first Mac minis did not have 05; instead, Apple provided an upgrade coupon in their boxes.
