i'm having some issues when i try to burn DVD video with Toast Titanium

i have a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-825 superdrive and i often get hardware errors about 3/4 way through a burn....

does anyone have this problem, what could be causing this?

cd's burnd without a hitch and some dvd's as well

should i go back to using finder to burn my dvd's

any input is appreciated

If the exact same discs burn with no problems in the Finder, then Toast is the problem. Going back to the Finder is the only way to find out.

i'll try different media, and using finder....

if this doesn't fix the problem would that qualify for getting it fixed for free if the computer is within its warranty.

Most of MY problems (or ALL of them) with DVD burning are related either to:
1. Using cheap media
2. Using scratched media (scratches around the edges frequently cause errors in the final phase of burning, since the burning is initiated in the center of a CD / DVD)
3. Opening lots of apps during burning
4. Opening few CPU-demanding apps during burning...


By the way, I also use Toast... Aren't you by any chance leaving the " Prevent Buffer Underrun" checkbox unmarked, are you??? It should be left CHECKED...


As for the Finder vs Toast issue, test it and post it...
